Im almost afraid to get into this... but after all the back and forth during the fall and early winter... How did it go?

How was the hill?
How was the meet run?
How did teams get there, and where did they stay?

Really a first-rate job by LP people. Hill completely inadequate for GS but wide, clear and safe. Much like a GS at Titcomb if Titcomb had a bit less pitch and held GS's! Stayed in owner-rented camps on a lake- a little rough. LOOOOOOONG bus ride. Most heavier racers skied career GS's, but predictably lighter racers had a rough time. TD pulled some boner moves; perhaps a Maine skiing icon but it was our second trip to the county where he was the TD and did really dumb things. Bring your evening meals- could not get near the few restaurants. Canadian TV Olympic coverage was great if your favorite sports are hockey, hockey, hockey, hockey and curling.

The race wasn't so bad it was the 20% of the racers that were disqualified by the "strategically placed" gate keepers. The teams that had the top contenders to beat Fort Kent were the teams with the most kids disqualified. There has been talk all season long about manual stops in the timing room that causes their skiers to gain two seconds on their time when this doesn't happen at any other races. Since MPA officials were in and out of the timing room it makes one wonder about the number of disqualifications. Great kids, parents REALLY want to win badly.
